About Gentle Goodbye Vets

Gentle Goodbyes At Home

Being a pet owner can bring so much joy and happiness.

Sadly it also means we sometimes have to make the difficult decision to say goodbye to our much loved pets.

I believe that when that incredibly difficult decision is reached that it is kindest for your pet and their family for the pet to pass away peacefully, asleep, in their home, surrounded by their loved ones.

Your current vets may be able to offer home euthanasia but, if they cannot, then we are here to offer a gentle, dignified goodbye at home for your beloved pet.

About Gentle Goodbye Vets

About Gareth

Gentle Goodbyes At Home

I have have worked in clinical practice for nearly 20 years having graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2005.

I believe that great care should be accessible to as many pets as possible and this includes end of life care. Seeing how important it was for pets to pass away peacefully in their favourite place, without the stress of a trip to the vets, inspired me to set up Gentle Goodbye Vets.

As well as many years experience of helping pets have a gentle, dignified euthanasia, tailored to them and their families I have also undertaken further training and am proud to be a Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Academy Certified Peaceful Euthanasia Vet.

The Steps

This is a summary of the process but if you have any questions please do not hesitate to call

Booking

Call, send me a message, e-mail or fill in the form at the bottom of the page.

I will contact you to arrange a time for the visit and discuss any questions you may have.

I will discuss any individual needs your pet may have so we can tailor the approach to your pet.

The Visit

I will visit your house and give your pet a sedative so they fall into a deep tranquil sleep. I will then gently and peacefully put your pet to sleep.

Aftercare

If you would like your pet cremated I will take them and organise an individual cremation before returning your pets ashes to you around a week later.

Coverage

I perform peaceful home euthanasia for dogs, cats and other small pets in East Devon, West Dorset and South Somerset; covering a roughly 20 mile radius from Honiton.

Appointments are usually booked on weekdays between 9am and 5 pm.

I can sometimes accommodate evening and weekend visits outside these hours, but please note that this is not always possible and does cost more.
